Yet More Catching Up

So Saturday found me at work, exhausted, and everyone else in bed. Nothing really eventful happened at work except my scary run in with determined clients.

Cliff Notes Version:
So we close at 12 on Saturday. A client called at 28 till and wanted to know if a friend could pick up his dogs. I told him not a problem just be there before 12 because we close AT 12. He wanted to know about picking up on Sunday, I told him not possible either by 12 today, or wait till Monday. He asked about his friend picking up at 12:15, told him no one will be there, we close at 12. 11:45 came and we closed out, and at 11:58 everyone except me and one other girl were gone. 12:00 came and I locked the door and went upstairs to do back up. I had to reboot the server so it took at 15 min to get everything done. I walked back down stairs, looked out a window and then out the front door and saw a car but no person. I looked back out the previously empty window and there was someone looking back at me. Scared me to death. I went into an exam room because I didn't know the guy that was looking in the back door's window and standing between me and my car.

I called my manager and she said just wait about 5 or 10 min and they should leave. So I wait, and ANOTHER car pulls up. It was the owner. They start messing with the number punch lock on the back door and make me really nervous, so I'm now in the office very nervous. They knock on all the doors and tap on all the windows, call 3 or 4 times, and are there about 20 min trying to get into the building after they were told that no one would be there. After about 4 calls to my manager, they leave and I walk out and get into my car. So freaked out I forget to clock out.

I get home, and then we go to the beach and have a cook out. I came home early and watched the Olympics.

Sunday we spent on the couch because it rained. We just watched the Olympics and chilled.

Catching Up....

So to update you on the puppy. The owner went home and gave it a laxative (VERY bad idea) and it passed a rag...or at least that's what she said at first. She took the puppy to another clinic and didn't mention anything about the whole situation. However, the other clinic got a phone call and filled in on the poor puppy's situation.....she declined EVERYTHING except vaccines. And told the other clinic that the puppy passed a bra (hope it had no under wire...).

We got a report from the other clinic, I was so riled up I just wanted to call Animal Control on her, and all the girls that I work with were like " You have to get to a point where you don't care anymore than the owner" I don't think that will ever happen with me.

So ANY way, after work on Thursday Dr. M and the girls took me out for my going away dinner and it was great!! We went to Bravo's and OMG the food was YUMMY!! I was STARVING so we ordered appetizers and ate them all before Dr. M even got there. So my manager had gotten me a card, but she doesn't work on Thursdays, so she had everyone sign the card at the table. I was wound up and goofy so I was passing the card around saying things like "SHHH don't let her know, it's a secret" then acting all surprised when I opened the card.

My manager got me the CUTEST little lunch bag. She filled it with candy and snacks, and on the card wrote "May you never have another Snack Attack" because I'm ALWAYS eating at work. So anyway Dr. M finally got there, and I handed him the card and told him to keep it a secret because we didn't want me to know about the card. He laughed and signed the card, handed it back, and I acted super surprised when I got the card back. Everyone was laughing at me, but I rarely get to show my true colors at work and be stupid goofy.

So we had dinner and then dessert (I had vanilla gelato in a champagne glass with a shot of espresso over it YUM-O) and we all parted ways. I got home around 9ish and told Cam hi and we talked shortly. But the neighbor were having a cook out so we chilled with them and I was talking 90miles an hour because of the espresso. So I told my long drawn out version of the Great Dane Puppy Story all details and phone conversation include in about 10 min. I chatted the mayor's ear off until about 12.

And went to bed, and Cam didn't even know I had crawled in bed because about the time I got straight, I crashed and passed out.

Summed up in 3 words...

So today can be broken down into three sections: Work, Dinner, Night.

Work: A little exciting. We dubbed today "Stupid Tuesday with Vengeance." Every Tuesday it seems we get stupid phone calls, silly appointments and it's just a stupid day over all. We usually get stupid questions all week, but it seems we get the most stupidity on Tuesday. It's usually things like "My [insert pet] might have gotten into poison, ate a one pound Hersey kiss, has been puking/had diarrhea [insert ANYTHING else an animal can eat and isn't supposed to] on Thursday,Friday, or anything before Monday. Should I bring him in?" It makes good fun when we all need something to laugh about, granted it's nothing major that was eaten.

Today, we had a few one puppy ate wire Saturday or Sunday, went to an emergency clinic and was supposed to be to us Monday, she comes in and doesn't want surgery. I'll update you on the puppy's status tomorrow, but when I clocked out, she was supposed to take him to another clinic for MORE diagnostics, MORE radiographs and surgery. Then someone came in knowing she didn't have money to pay for the visit, and still made the appointment, and we had to jump through hoops to get her seen, and the flea problem with her pets taken care of.

Add this to coworker drama, and four lines ringing off the hook....it was chaotically funny today. I clocked out at 6:40, we close at 6 and BOTH doctors were running late. That kinda sums up most of my day at work.

Dinner: VERY yummy. We went over to the mayor's house, and we all cooked. Cam and the mayor grilled steak, K-Roo and I did veggies and Lei came over to eat. Lei was telling us about her puppy's training, and we're taking bets on how long it will be before T-Willie breaks the clicker she has.

Night: this is it. I came home, my back killing me, Cam took a shower, I played with iGoogle home page, and then took a shower. Realized I hadn't updated my blog today, and now that I have, I'm off to bed. G'night to all.
